The Caseworker/Administrative Assistant reports to the Program Director/Casework Supervisor and is responsible for general administrative duties for the Day Reporting Center, and will supervise clients in their activities and in their progress toward their goals while also providing direct services to clients including individual case management and groups. 


1.  Maintain caseload of clients.

2.  Make written case notes regarding client behavior, noting significant intervention and changes in accordance with contract requirements.

3.  Assure that the clients understand and follow program rules and procedures.

4.  Develop case management plans, exit plans, and provide aftercare information for clients.

5.  Provide individual and group counseling geared toward the client's specified goals and objectives.

6.  Plan, organize, and implement special groups and seminars for residents.

7.  Assist the clients in appropriate utilization of referral services.

8.  Document progress and all services in the parolees file (including employment effort/status, case conference results).

9.  Serve as a resource person with regard to education, training, and employment opportunities available in the community for clients.

10.  Ensure agent of record in informed of all clients' progress.

11.  Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

12.  Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

13.  Will drive on Agency business.

14.  Composes letters and memorandums.

15.  Distributes mail.

16.  Maintains files and type case entries.

17.  Answers telephone, greets clients, in person or on the telephone; answers inquiries within assigned scope of responsibility.

18.  Perform general office duties.

19.  Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

20.  Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

21.  Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.

1.  The Caseworker/ Admin Assistant shall possess an Associates of Arts or Associates of

Sciences degree from a granting institution accredited by the WASC or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the criminal justice population; or shall possess a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and a minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a similar position with the criminal justice population.

2.  Ability to work effectively with program clients.

3.  Current certified training in emergency first aid procedures and CPR.

4.  Possession of valid driver's license and access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated per requirements of all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.

5.  Ability to use the equipment necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.

6.  Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.

7.  Ability to pass a CDCR criminal records clearance check.

8.  Must maintain good relationships with clients, co-workers, government representatives and any others with whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
