JOB SUMMARY

The Monitor reports to the AB109 Program Manager under the direct supervision of the Program Administrator.  The Monitor is responsible for the security and supervision of residents in a corrections-affiliated residential program. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  Provide constant and alert supervision of residents to include camera surveillance. 

  2.  Maintain confidentiality of residents and staff.

  3.  Ensure residents are in compliance with MCP and TP rules.

  4.  Sign residents in and out of the facility monitoring approved pass information. 

  5.  Read facility log at shift start and document staff communication and significant events.

  6.  Receive, distribute, and audit medications.

  7.  Conduct resident counts and room searches.

  8.  Supervise smoke breaks.

  9.  Sign visitors in and out of facility.

  10.  Check ETA box every 15 minutes for late returns/AWOL's.

  11.  Document movement sheet updates.

  12.  Conduct duties per the shift sheet and document deferred tasks. 

  13.  Detect and write disciplinary and FYI Incident Reports.

  14.  Conduct resident pat searches and examine incoming belongings, packages, etc. 

  15.  Conduct and document interior and exterior security checks.

  16.  Supervise house chores and assigned extra duty tasks. 

  17.  Conduct intakes. 

  18.  Conduct and document breathalyzer testing.

  19.  Answer the Control Center telephone and take messages for staff and residents.

  20.  Attend monthly staff meetings and complete all assigned trainings to include Serve Safe Certification.

  21.  Responsible for basic food service duties as assigned by Program Manager / Program Administrator.

  22.  Alert the Program Manager / Program Administrator immediately upon learning of special diet needs and /or health concerns; document such following.

  23.  Maintain accurate meal service logs.

  24.  Wear hairnet and disposable gloves while in the food preparation and food service area.  Exercise good personal hygiene.

  25.  Responsible for kitchen cleanliness and sanitization. 

  26.  Will drive on Agency business which includes the transportation of residents. 

  27.  Will think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies. 

  28.  Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

  29.  Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1.  High school diploma or GED.

  2.  CPR and First Aid certification.

  3.  Ability to legibly, accurately and appropriately document communications, behaviors and routine facility events as they occur.

  4.  Ability to report to work on short notice and have a means of communication that can be used to provide such notice.

  5.  Ability to work overtime as required. 

  6.  Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  7.  Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.  Agency insurer authorization is required. 

  8.  Ability to pass a criminal background check.

  9.  Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.

  10.  Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
