JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional reports to the Program Director and/or Regional Executive Director and provides mental health clinical services to clients referred by Federal Bureau of Prisons Community Treatment Services, U.S Probation Office, and U.S. Pretrial Services.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Maintain a caseload of clients.

2.  Complete intake assessment and develop treatment plans for clients within the stated time period, as per Statement of Work.

3.  Study and review funding contract Statement of Work/ Scope of Work for Federal Bureau of Prisons Drug Treatment Program and US Probation / US Pretrial Aftercare Program.

4.  Adhere to reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.

5.  Document services to meet all clinical program and state and federal requirements, including Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward development and attainment of a treatment plan. (If applicable)

6.  Meet with other counseling staff for the purpose of reviewing client progress and to assure quality treatment planning.

7.  Conduct 30-day case reviews and 90-day treatment plan updates with US Probation Officers and document in case file.

8.  Do Discharge Reports for clients completing treatment program within the stated time period.

9.  Provide direct services in the clinic, including individual and group treatment, case management, and consultation.

10.  Give input on overall structure of treatment program.

11.  Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-site staff training.

12.  Will drive on Agency business.

13.  Thinks and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

14.  Complies with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.  Licensing Required: Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

2.  Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.

3.  Knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.

4.  Must have knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities to provide clinical services to clients diagnosed with Co-Occurring Disorder.  Must have experience with co-occurring substance use disorders and treatment modalities.

5.  Must have knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.

6.  Knowledge of record keeping procedures related to patient charts.

7.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

8.  Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

9.  As needed, have flexibility in scheduling sessions with clients.

10.  Must be available by cell phone as needed.

11.  Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

12.  Ability to operate within Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.

13.  Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.

14.  Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, drug screen, and TB test.

15.  Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
