JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper reports to the Accounts Receivable Coordinator and maintains agency financial and payroll records.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  Perform day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording financial data.

  2.  Reconcile the Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

  3.  Research and resolve payment discrepancies and process adjustments.

  4.  Develop automated spreadsheets as needed.

  5.  Maintain financial records and accounts using manual and/or automated systems.

  6.  Post expenditures, receipts and other data to appropriate ledgers.

  7.  Prepare accounting journal entries.

  8.  Maintain accounts receivable files.

  9.  Prepare financial billings and reports required by government agencies or mandated by grant terms.

  10.  Make follow-up contacts regarding billings to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.

  11.  Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

  12.  Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

  13.  Will drive on Agency business.

  14.  Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1.  Two (2) years bookkeeping experience or equivalent education.

  2.  Type 30 wpm.

  3.  10-key by touch.

  4.  High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  5.  Good mathematical background.

  6.  Ability to listen, communicate and follow instructions.

  7.  Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  8.  Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.  Agency insurer authorization is required. 

  9.  Ability to pass a criminal background check.

  10.  Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.

  11.  Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
