The Accountant reports to the Director of Finance and assists with the management of the business and fiscal affairs of the Agency. 


  1.  Review and maintain familiarity with individual contract requirements and advise the Finance Director of irregularities that relate to fiscal operations.

  2.  Prepare property tax reports required of the Agency.

  3.  Assist in the development of annual budgets for Agency programs.

  4.  Reconcile monthly corporate statements to the general ledger.

  5.  Assist in preparation of financial reports for the Agency Board of Directors and contracting agencies.

  6.  Monitor and assist in the preparation of Agency invoices and billings to various contracting agencies.

  7.  Assist with periodic audits performed by contracting agencies, and the annual independent audit of the Agency.

  8.  Maintain and reconcile financial data, interpret the results, and prepare reports of findings for the management. 

  9.  Analyze the Agency general ledger and prepare accruals and adjustments necessary for the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.

  10.  Instruct program employees in the proper recording of transactions and maintaining records related to client cash funds held in trust at program locations, review and report on the accuracy of their work in QuickBooks.

  11.  Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.

  12.  Comply with all Turning Point Safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to: workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, Infection Control and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.

  13.  Will drive on Agency business.

  14.  Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee at Turning Point. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working. Employees also are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours are disruptive and must be avoided.

  1.  Bachelor's degree in accounting/business or equivalent education/experience.

  2.  Two (2) years' experience performing analytical duties.

  3.  Ability to monitor, analyze, and implement the accounting systems of the Agency with minimum supervision.

  4.  Handle multiple priorities and function independently.

  5.  Coordinate work with a variety of programs, directors, and fiscal staff.

  6.  Independently perform routine studies and do periodic reviews and reports.

  7.  Use 10-key and be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet functions on Microsoft environment computer.

  8.  Ability to coordinate and train staff members and others.

  9.  Willingness to travel to various program sites if necessary.

  10.  Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.  Agency insurer authorization is required. 

  11.  Ability to pass a criminal background check.

  12.  Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.

  13.  Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.

  14.  Knowledge of QuickBooks.
